Peer Researcher Lead: Eden Nycole Buell
Eden is a lived experience advocate and community engagement specialist dedicated to advancing recovery science, chronic pain, health equity, and public health through person-centered research. Drawing on her own lived experience, she works with researchers, clinicians, and community members to ensure that the experiences and priorities of people with lived experience help shape research from start to finish.
Eden specializes in Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), an approach that brings researchers and community members together as equal partners. Eden has contributed to several collaborative research projects and initiatives the Justice Involved and Emerging Adult Populations (JEAP) Initiative, the Collaborative Hub for Emerging Adult Recovery Research (CHEARR), the Community Engaged Research Resource Center (CERRC), and the Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) Kâ12 Project. She is dedicated to building stronger partnerships between researchers and communities so that research efforts can address the real-world needs and priorities of the people it is intended to serve.
