Jason works as a scientist at the intersection of digital health and addiction recovery. He is the founding director of the Networks Enhancing Addiction Recovery (NEAR) Lab at the University of Pittsburgh. His work examines how digital technologies shape addiction recovery, well-being, and personal growth. His research explores how technology can enhance recovery capital by expanding access to supportive connections and community resources. He is also interested in how people engage with digital peer support alongside emerging forms of artificial support. Informed by his own lived experience with addiction and recovery, he is committed to developing practical, human-centered approaches that support long-term recovery and flourishing.
