Meenakshi Subbaraman, PhD

Meenakshi received her MS in statistics from Stanford University and PhD in epidemiology from UC Berkeley. Her research interests include treatment and recovery from substance use; recovery housing; cannabis/alcohol substitution and complementarity; cannabis and alcohol policy; and policies related to substance use during pregnancy. One of her current projects is assessing how blood alcohol content limits for driving are associated with alcohol-related outcomes besides motor vehicle crashes in the US. Her most recently funded project will assess how cannabis use in sober living houses is related to other substance use outcomes and characterize cannabis use policies in these environments. Before joining Behavioral Health & Recovery Studies, she worked with the Alcohol Research Group for 15 years where she served as the Director of Statistical and Data Services for the last two.
